Fido Extravaganza
August 2013
In the Fido Extravaganza project, I coordinated the work of four programmers, managing the production timeline in collaboration with the project manager and account director. While leading the team, I was responsible for programming the front-end game in JavaScript, with the team focusing on the complex e-commerce workflow.
Production Highlights
- Developed a Béziers curve to simulate the wheel's rotational movement, incorporating a cost effect driven by the weight of the water. Initially, the motion curve was created using a Flash tool and later converted by a colleague.
- Implemented sprite-based animation with layers of visual elements, achieving a complex and engaging user experience.
- Deployed the microsite on a private two-node cluster designed to handle over 1 million visitors per hour, ensuring robust performance under heavy traffic.
- Optimized the game for mobile play, although sound was disabled due to the limited audio support on iPhones at the time.
